Although integrated in the Binirayan Festival, the Komedya sa Antique is a festival in itself. It aims to promote the komedya as a living theater tradition in the province. It started in 2006 with a grant from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), featuring the komedya of Madrangca, San Jose, Guinbanggaan, Lauaan, and San Antonio, Barbaza.  In 2007, the komedya of Hamtic was revived and added to the line-up. For 2008, the komedya of Valderrama will be featured at the EBJ Freedom Park on April 22, and the komedya “Kasanag batok sa sugal” by Exaltacion V. Combong will be performed by the Hiraya Theater Company on May 1.
